EMPLOYER IDENTIFICATION NUMBER

At this point you got your name, purpose, filed your articles of incorporation, and now it’s time to file for your nonprofit employer identification number (EIN). The Employer Identification number is a nine digit number and is filed through the IRS website electronically, it’s how the IRS identify different entities. If you have employees you need a EIN, if you plan to open a nonprofit bank account, apply for business licenses/ permits, apply for grants/ financing, and file taxes you will also need a Employer Identification Number.
